Hi, I’m Ashley.
I’m a mom of four who tends to overthink almost everything, start more projects than I finish, and research things way past the point most people probably would.
If I’m trying a new skincare product, testing a recipe, organizing something, planning something fun for the kids, or buying something for our house, I usually want to know how it works, whether it is worth it, and if there is an easier way to do it.
And if I already spent all that time figuring it out, I might as well share what I learned.
What you’ll find here
This site originally started as a place for me to share SeneGence makeup and skincare, but over time it grew into a much better reflection of my actual life.
Now I share a mix of beauty and skincare, cleaning and organization, easy recipes, kids’ activities, home projects, products we actually use, and the occasional thing I have researched far more than necessary.
I am not an expert in all of those things. I am just someone who likes to understand what I am doing, try it in real life, and then explain it in a way that is actually useful.
If I love something, I will tell you why. If I think it was a waste of money, I will tell you that too.
A little about me
Before staying home with my kids, I worked as a CPA and tax accountant. I do not really think of that as my identity anymore, but the analytical part of my brain definitely stuck around. Give me a spreadsheet and I’m happy.
I like systems, details, and figuring things out. I am also anxious, a little perfectionistic, and fully capable of creating a system for something while simultaneously ignoring it. 🙈
My husband and I live in Florida with our four kids. A lot of life right now is school schedules, sports, cooking, cleaning, house projects, business, and trying to make sure we are actually enjoying this season while we are in it.
I also love creating reasons for people to get together, especially for the kids. If there is a pumpkin carving night, cookie decorating party, or some other excuse to make a normal week more fun, I’m usually interested.
Beauty, Skincare, and SeneGence
SeneGence is still a big part of my business.
I have been using and selling the products for years, and I try to approach it the same way I approach everything else I share here. I want you to understand what something does, whether it makes sense for you, and what I actually think about it.
I am not interested in pressure, copy-and-paste sales messages, or pretending eveyr product is perfect for every person. Sometimes the right answer is helping someone find the right shade. Sometimes it is building a simple skincare routine. Sometimes it is telling someone they probably don’t need something.
That is the kind of business I want to run.
