Look of the Day | New Shadows
Alright, Alright, Alright! By now you have heard the news, three beloved shades have made their glorious return to our permanent ShadowSense color lineup. Allow me to re-introduce you to Cinnamon Shimmer, Burgundy, and Champagne Shimmer. These stunning shadows are back to enhance your beauty and add a touch of elegance to your looks. Plus, they are permanent so no worrying how long they will stick around!
As soon as I heard the news, I RAN to wash my face and get myself ready for the day. I was rushing, because I couldn't wait to pull these out and create a look right away! So that is what the look of the day is inspired by, the three brand new shadows and they are a beautiful.
ShadowSense
I started by applying a base shade that isn't included in the listed shadows. I opted for Smoky Taupe, as I've been loving that color lately. Instead of using Candlelight, I applied it all over my eyelid and crease as a base.
Burgundy ShadowSense
I began by applying Burgundy to the outer corner, in a small “>” shape under my crease line, as it is the deepest shade I used. This placement allows for control over the intensity of the color. Using circular motions, I blended it upwards and outwards, extending it across the crease. This technique builds up the color in the desired outer corner while softly diffusing it elsewhere.
There are other creative ways to utilize Burgundy. For example, it can be used as blush. Due to its high pigmentation, I suggest dabbing a small amount on the back of your hand or a blending palette, then using a makeup brush to apply it to your cheeks. This allows for better control and prevents applying too much pigment until you become familiar with the desired amount.
Furthermore, Burgundy can be used as an eyeliner to achieve a dark, burgundy look. Simply use an eyeliner makeup brush for precise application, this one is my favorite (affiliate link). Additionally, it can be applied to the lips, but I recommend using a blending palette and either a lip brush or your finger. Avoid direct application to the lips to prevent cross-contamination with the eyes. Or for added color and increased longevity, tapping Burgundy in between LipSense layers is a great option. This will enhance the color while ensuring it stays sealed in for longer wear.
Cinnamon Shimmer ShadowSense
After achieving the desired red-brown tone with the Burgundy, I applied Cinnamon Shimmer all over my lids. I carefully pat it on until I achieved the right color, aiming for a lighter and less intense shade. To blend it seamlessly, I used a windshield wiper motion to lift the pigment slightly.
While this eye shadow can be used the same as previously mentioned, other ways I'd use Cinnamon Shimmer personally would be blush. It would provide a chocolatey color with a touch of shimmer to accentuate the cheeks. Oh and this one looks FANTASTIC smudged underneath your lash line.
Champagne Shimmer ShadowSense
I applied the Champagne Shimmer as a highlight to accentuate my eyes. Initially, I planned to place it directly in the tear duct of my eye, but then I changed my mind. Instead, I decided to pat it on the inner corner of my eyelid as well, starting from the tear duct area. While applying, I made sure not to cross the center line of my eye. I let the colors transition smoothly, starting from champagne shimmer, then to cinnamon shimmer, and finally to burgundy. After patting all the shades in, I went back and added a touch more of the burgundy on top to darken the outer corner. This technique allows me to have better control over the intensity of the color. I used my leftover burgundy brush to achieve this final touch.
This Champagne Shimmer shade is perfect for adding a touch of elegance without overwhelming your look. It blends seamlessly with other colors, allowing you to create a subtle golden undertone. For a radiant glow, apply it as a highlighter on your upper cheekbones. It's a versatile option if you prefer not to use Pearlizer.😍
Layered LipSense Look:
If you've been following me for a while, you'll know that I absolutely love a rich burgundy lip color. My all-time favorite has to be Glam Doll LipSense, and I couldn't be happier now that it's been re-released on the website. The best part? It's currently on sale (as of me writing this)! I've been wearing this shade non-stop, and you all know it's my go-to. Although I'm a little disappointed that it's not a permanent offering, Amber Spice comes in as a close second. So, I decided to experiment and layer the two shades. To achieve this stunning look, I applied two coats of Glam Doll and topped it off with a single layer of Amber Spice. The result? A mesmerizing blend of deep purple with a hint of red and shimmer. To keep my lips moisturized and hydrated, I sealed it all in with our glossy gloss.
You won't regret adding any of these ShadowSense eye shadows or LipSense shades to your makeup bag. They offer incredible versatility and are sure to become your go-to shades. Mix and match them with a variety of colors to create stunning looks. I can't wait to see how you incorporate them into your makeup routine.
