To Stitch Fix or To Trunk Club? That is the REAL question!
Stitch Fix or Truck Club
A question I see a lot from both myself AND my friends is has anyone used Stitch Fix? One I don’t see a lot is has anyone used Trunk Club? Well, my friends, I have used both and I’m here to give you the details on why Trunk Club is definitely the way to go for your money. Please note this is totally based on my personal experience with both brands.
Fee Comparison
Both Stitch Fix and Trunk Club have a monthly styling fee that can be applied to any clothes you keep. Think of it as payment to your stylist for picking out the perfect clothes to send you! The difference in cost is only $5 with Stitch Fix costing $20 and Trunk Club costing $25 (unless you are a Nordstrom cardmember then it is waived). You can also give both access to a board on your Pinterest account where you can pin outfit inspiration or things you are loving so they can find similar pieces.
A plus for Stitch Fix is if you keep everything in your box you get a discount on the items, however, I never once kept all the items and actually had several months I returned everything and forfeit my $20.
The Big Difference
Here is where they start to differentiate and where Trunk Club truly stands out as the clear winner. With Stitch Fix you get 5 items and they are assigned to you without you having the option to approve or deny whether you like them enough to even be sent. However, with Trunk Club you have around 12 items sent to you AND you get to preview them before they are sent. During your preview you can tell your stylist not to send the items you don’t like and they will remove them from your box and replace them with something new. I love this feature of Trunk Club because if it is something I know I will never wear I don’t want it to take a spot in my box!

If you have a Nordstrom credit card they will waive the $25 styling fee. (A perk if you didn’t keep an item from the box, but let’s be serious I’ve kept something from every box I have gotten thus far)
Trunk Club Price Match is Priceless
They price match with Nordstrom! I know I had a couple items in my box around Black Friday that I was kind of worried because I knew out of the 12 items something was bound to go on sale during the holiday. Well, it automatically adjusted the price for the sale upon checkout! Apparently, they will price match up to 14 days to Nordstrom.
I personally have also price checked most of the items to Amazon as well (who doesn’t, Amazon prime for the win) and they are usually similar pricing if not the price difference isn’t worth the hassle to buy and wait.
In-Store Try-On
Live in Chicago, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, or Washington D.C.? Then you have the option to go into a Trunk Club warehouse for a personal styling session and take the clothes home the same day. Buyer beware, I’m sure you will leave with a tote full!!!
