Fall Makeup Look for When It’s Still 100 Degrees Outside
If you live in Florida (or anywhere warm), you already know the seasonal struggle, the second stores like HomeGoods, Marshalls, Hobby Lobby, and Michael’s put out their fall décor, you have to grab it. Not in late September. Not in October. Now. Otherwise, by the time real fall arrives, you’re left with three broken pumpkins and a lonely glitter turkey, if anything at all!
So last week, in the middle of a full-on heat advisory, I was hunting for Halloween decor. Yes, sweating a ton, but on a mission to actually get decorations. This year, I promised myself I’d decorate more than just my kids’ bedrooms.
Side note: I scored the cutest yard ghosts, each with a bow on its head. One has an orange bow, and she was definitely coming home with me. I had been thinking about her for a couple weeks and finally decided today was the day. Then I went back to grab her a friend with a black bow too.😂 Since I knew I was going to get Halloween/Fall decorations figured my makeup should match!
The Main Products I Used
All permanent line shades you can wear year-round:
Dusk Shimmer ShadowSense: soft, rosy-beige with a shimmer finish.
Blissful ShadowSense: warm orangey-brown with depth and a matte finish.
Cocoa LipSense: deep, bold brown with subtle warmth and golden shimmer finish.
Toffee Gloss: caramel-toned gloss for a softer finish.
How I Created the Look
Eyes:
I applied Dusk Shimmer all over my eyelids for that smooth, glowing base. Then I tapped Blissful into the outer corners, it has this perfect orangey-brown tone that instantly gives fall energy without being too heavy. The blend between Dusk and Blissful was better than I even expected. Fall or every day the two just work together!
Cheeks:
Instead of my usual blush, I used Blissful ShadowSense. I dotted a bit on the back of my hand (a blending palette works too), swirled my brush in it, and applied it to the apples of my cheeks. It gave me a warm, bronzed-orange glow. I also swept the leftover product along my hairline and jawline to pull the warmth throughout my face. Since this is a deeper pigmented shade you want to start with less and build up the color.
Lips:
For that deep, bold-but-wearable fall lip, I went with Cocoa LipSense, my long-time favorite for adding depth and warmth to any lipstick look. It’s rich without being overpowering. It’s seriously a go to for me with layering LipSense colors. Today, I topped it with Toffee Gloss for a softer, caramel sheen that toned down the depth just slightly.
Why This Works Year-Round
The beauty of these shades is their versatility. Swap the lip for a lighter neutral (ie. Velvet, Beige Champagne, or Creamer), skip the bronzed cheeks, and it’s a fresh spring look. Go smokier on the eyes and keep Cocoa as your lip base for a perfect winter evening style. These colors transition with you.
Pro Tips to Make It Your Own
Try a Monochromatic Look: Use Blissful on eyes, cheeks, and even dab a little over your lip color for an ultra-cohesive look.
Switch the Gloss: Toffee gives warm caramel vibes, but Glossy Gloss adds extra shine and keeps the depth of color, and Matte Gloss gives a velvety softer finish.
Make It Brighter: Swap Cocoa for a peachy or nude LipSense shade to make this more daytime-friendly.
Make It Darker: Deepen the outer eye with a matte chocolate brown for night like Garnet or Rustic Brown.
Beat the Heat: Even in 100-degree weather, these products stay put, no melting, smudging, or disappearing halfway through the day. Trust me, I’ve put them through the ringer multiple times in the middle of dead summer at Disney.😅
If you are really glistening, you can always grab our translucent loose powders to top over your makeup and soak up some of that extra shine!
I’d love to know, are you ready for Fall or still in summer mode?!
